These Web standards will assist Web Owners, Authors and Publishers in professionally and consistently representing The University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston’s (UTHSC-H) mission of excellence in health care, education, research, and community service.

These standards also give Publishers the resources to comply with the:

• Rehabilitation Act, Section 508,
• Texas Administrative Code (TAC) 206,
• Handbook of Operating Procedures (HOOP),
• Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA)

Non-compliance with federal and state guidelines places the university at risk for lawsuits from individuals and organizations, and compromises our National Institutes of Health (NIH) research funding.
